Furman Rated Among Top 10 Schools For Women’s Soccer

Greenville, S.C. -- Furman has been ranked No. 10 by in its latest evaluation of the top schools for women's soccer, it was released recently. looked at athletic competitiveness, overall college quality, each school's Academic Progress Rate (APR), athletic aid per student and financial resources in ranking all NCAA Division I women's soccer programs.

Furman has claimed eight Southern Conference regular season titles, six SoCon Tournament titles and made seven NCAA Tournament appearances since its inaugural season in 1994. In 14 seasons under the leadership of head coach Andrew Burr, the SoCon's all-time winningest coach, the Paladins have posted a 187-83-22 record and captured three SoCon Tournament crowns. Since the beginning of the 2012 season, Furman has fashioned a 100-31-11 mark.

Stanford grabbed the top spot in the rankings with Duke in second place and Northwestern third. Southern Cal, Rice, Virginia, SMU, Georgetown, Vanderbilt and Furman rounded out the top 10.
