Furman Women's Golf Share Sixth Place At UCF Challenge

Sorrento, Fla. -- The Furman women’s golf team (304-296-313=913) carded a final round 313 to finish in a tie for sixth place at the UCF Challenge at the par-72 Redtail Golf Club in Sorrento, Fla., on Tuesday.

Junior Stefanie Kenoyer (72-75-77=224) and sophomore Liz Wendt (83-74-77=234) each fired a five-over 77 on Tuesday to pace the Paladins to the sixth place tie in a field of 17 teams. Kenoyer finished in a tie for 13th place while fellow junior Jackie Hilea shot a third round 79 to forge a tie for 15th spot.

The Paladins finished 20 strokes behind tournament winners and 24th-ranked Texas A&M (293-305-295=893). Georgia State, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston and Baylor rounded out the top five ahead of the sixth place tie between Furman and host UCF.

Furman will return to the course March 12-14, at the LSU Classic in New Orleans, La.
