No. 7 Furman To Play At Bryan National Collegiate

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The seventh-ranked Furman women's golf team will play at the Bryan National Collegiate this weekend at the par 72, 6,386 yard Bryan Park Champions Course in Browns Summit, N.C.

The 54-hole tournament will begin Friday with a shotgun at 8:30 a.m.  Due to predicted inclement weather over the weekend, teams will play two rounds on Friday, with the second round immediately following the conclusion of round one.  The tournament will conclude either on Saturday or Sunday based on weather conditions.  The Paladins will tee off of holes No. 6 through No. 8 on Friday and will play in a group with host Wake Forest and North Carolina.

Furman will be joined in the 18-team field by Auburn, Charlotte, Clemson, Colorado State, Georgetown, Kentucky, Miami, Michigan, North Carolina, N.C. State, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Tennessee, UCF, UNC Greensboro, Virginia, and Wake Forest.

The Paladin lineup for the Bryan National Collegiate includes seniors Jacqueline Bendrick, Alice Chen, and Reona Hirai, junior Haylee Harford, and sophomore Natalie Srinivasan.  

Four Paladin players rank among the top-59 nationally.  Srinivasan, the 2017 SoCon Freshman of the Year, leads the Paladins with a 71.9 stroke average and ranks 23rd nationally.  Harford, who earned WGCA All-America second team honors and was named to the Golfweek All-America third team after tying for eighth at the NCAA Championships last season, ranks 44th and is second on the Furman team with a 72.3 stroke average.  Chen, the 2016 SoCon Co-Player of the Year ranks 49th and holds a 72.6 stroke average, while Hirai currently holds a 59th place rating and a 73.0 stroke average.
