HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- The sixth-ranked Furman women's golf team made the largest move in the field on Saturday, jumping six spots to land in seventh place following two rounds of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at the par 71, 6,160 yard Long Cove Club in Hilton Head, S.C.
Senior Taylor Totland (+6) and rookie Natalie Srinivasan (+6) lead the Paladin individuals, sitting in 31st place heading into Sunday's final round. The Paladin duo each carded a 74 on Saturday with Totland scoring birdies on No. 10 and No. 15 and Srinivasan adding birdies on No. 5 and No. 12.
Junior Alice Chen (+7) is tied for 38th after two rounds. Chen also added a 74 on Saturday with birdies on No. 9 and No. 16. Sophomore Haylee Harford (+8) and junior Reona Hirai (+8) are tied for 46th with one round remaining. Hirai paced the Paladins with a 73 in the second round, posting a team-high three birdies, including consecutive birdies on No. 5 and No. 6. Harford scored a 76 with a birdie on No. 8.
No. 33 Kristen Gillman (-3) of Alabama leads the field by one stroke after firing a 68 on Friday and adding a second-round 71.
Fifth-ranked Alabama (+5) and No. 18 Duke (+5) are tied for the lead at 573, just three strokes ahead of No. 10 Arizona State (+8). No. 14 South Carolina (+12) is in fourth, while 19th-ranked Baylor (+19) and No. 8 Georgia (+19) are tied for fifth entering Sunday's final round.
The 54-hole tournament will conclude with an 8 a.m. round on Sunday. Live tournament scoring will also be available via www.golfstat.com.
