Furman, Rancourt Finish Third At SoCon Women’s Golf Championship

Hilton Head Island, S.C. – Sophomore Alexa Rancourt (+9) carded a final round 73 to claim third place and help the Furman women's golf team to a third place finish on Tuesday at the Southern Conference Women's Golf Championship at the par-72 Moss Creek Golf Club.

Rancourt notched a birdie at No. 8 and was guilty of just two bogeys en route to her top finish of the season.  The Portland, Maine, native finished six strokes back of individual medalist Emma de Groot (+3) of Chattanooga and three stroke behind second place Jordan Britt (+6) of Chattanooga.

Seniors Stefanie Kenoyer and Jackie Hilea each posted a final round 78 to claim shares of 17th and 20th place, respectively.

Chattanooga, ranked No. 35 in the latest GolfStat Rankings, cruised to a 30-stroke victory over second place College of Charleston with Furman in third place 34 strokes off of the Lady Mocs' pace.

Furman will find out next week if it will earn an at-large spot in the NCAA Women's Golf Regionals, set for May 5-7.
