  • Furman Captures Fourth-Straight Germann Cup As SoCon's Top Women's Sports Program; Paladins Finish Second In Commissioner's Cup Race

    Furman captured its fourth-straight Germann Cup and finished second in the Commissioner’s Cup standings for a fourth-consecutive year, it was announced on Wednesday by the Southern Conference at its annual league meetings in Hilton Head, S.C.

    Furman cross country/track and field All-Americans Aaron Templeton and Allie Buchalski were recognized as 2018-19 Furman Male Athlete of the Year and Edna Hartness Female Athlete of the Year, respectively, at Furman’s “ESPY” style awards banquet Tuesday evening at Timmons Arena. 
  • Holcomb, Van de Bovenkamp Named to All-Conference Teams

    Greenville, S.C. – Leading 9-4 at halftime, a 1:30 lightning delay quelled Furman’s momentum and jumpstarted Bellarmine, as the Knights used an 11-3 second-half scoring run to down the Paladins, 15-12, in SoCon play on Saturday afternoon. The win moves Bellarmine to 3-8 on the year, 3-2 in SoCon play, while the loss drops the Paladins to 2-9, 1-4 in SoCon play.

Last season, the Paladins nearly knocked off the then-No. 9 Tar Heels, falling 15-14 in overtime. 
  • Second-Ranked Blue Devils Down Paladins in Season Opener

    Greenville, S.C. – Five goals to close out the first half and five goals to open the second half propelled No. 2 Duke to a 17-9 win at Furman on Saturday evening inside Paladin Stadium. The Blue Devils used a 6-0 run beginning with 50 second remaining in the second quarter and spanning to the 2:13 mark of the third to open a 14-5 lead that the Paladins could not overcome.
