Furman's Harper Finishes Ninth At Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate

AIKEN, S.C. -- Keller Harper (E) finished ninth to pace the Furman (+19) men's golf team Tuesday at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate at the par 70, 6,617 yard Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken, S.C.

Harper, a junior from Atlanta, Ga., was one of four Paladins to card a 73 in Tuesday's final round.  He scored a birdie on No. 13, while junior Stephen Reynolds (+9) added a 73 with a birdie on No. 10 to tie for 36th.  Senior Connor Bruns (+10) , who tied for 39th, scored a 73 with a team-high three birdies, and sophomore Jack Crosby (+12) birdied No. 8, tallying a 73 to tie for 49th.  Freshman Phil Jones (+24) recorded a 77 in Tuesday's final round to finish in a tie for 81st.

South Carolina's Will Miles (-13) won individual medalist honors, setting a new tournament record with a score of 65-65-68=197.  

No. 37 South Carolina (-27) set a new tournament low record of 268-269-276=813, leading the field for the third-consecutive round to win by 35 strokes.  Virginia (+8) and UAB (+8) tied for second, and thirteenth-ranked Clemson (+15) finished fourth.  Memphis (+19) completed the top five.  Furman (+31) moved up one spot on Tuesday to place eighth.

The Paladins will compete in the Furman Intercollegiate March 22-24 in Greenville, S.C.
