Howell Concludes Stellar Fall With Fourth-Place Finish At Camden Collegiate

CAMDEN, S.C.-- Furman senior Bryce Howell (+1) fired a final-round 69 to record a fourth-place finish Sunday at the Camden Collegiate Invitational at the par 70, 6,544 yard Camden Country Club in Camden, S.C.

Howell, who finished among the top five in three of five tournaments this fall, recorded six birdies on Sunday and birdied four of six holes from No. 11 to No. 16, with consecutive birdies on No. 15 and No. 16.  He finished the tournament six strokes back of South Carolina's Keenan Huskey (-5) and Ryan Cole (-5) of James Madison, who tied for medalist honors with a three-round total of 205. 

Sophomore Garrison Hogan (+11) also carded a 69 with six birdies on Sunday to tie for 21st.  Hogan notched five birdies on the back nine and birdied three out of his last four holes.  Sophomore Connor Bruns (+18) tied for 42nd after scoring a 78 on Sunday, and freshman Stephen Reynolds (+20) tied for 50th after posting a 70 with two birdies in the final round.  Redshirt freshman Jake Reilly (+32) placed 74th.

James Madison (+10) led the field with a 280 on Sunday to win the tournament by nine strokes over host South Carolina (+19).  Wofford (+29) was third, followed by USC Aiken (+37) in fourth.  Harvard (+48) and Gardner-Webb (+48) tied for fifth, while the Paladins (+50) tied for seventh with Charleston Southern (+50).

Furman will open the 2017 spring season February 24-26 at the John Hayt Intercollegiate in Ponte Vedra Beach. Fla.
