CAMDEN, S.C.-- Furman senior Bryce Howell (+2) is in sixth place following two round of the Camden Collegiate Invitational at the par 70, 6,544 yard Camden Country Club in Camden, S.C.
Howell carded a 71 in both rounds on Saturday, with two birdies in the morning round and a team-high four birdies in the afternoon, to finish the day nine strokes back of individual leader Keenan Huskey (-7) of South Carolina, who led the field after posting first-round 69 then firing a 64 in round two.
Sophomore Connor Bruns (+10) is tied for 30th after posting a 78 in round one and a 72 with two birdies in the second round, and freshman Stephen Reynolds (+11) is tied for 34rd entering Sunday's final round. Reynolds, who notched three birdies on Saturday, scored a 77 in round one and a 74 in round two. Sophomore Garrison Hogan (+12) also added three birdies in the first two rounds, carding a 74 in the morning round with a 78 in the afternoon, to tie for 41st, while redshirt freshman Jake Reilly is tied for 71st entering Sunday's final round.
Host South Carolina (+6) holds a four-stroke lead over James Madison (+10) after the Gamecocks posted a first-round 287 then led the field with a 279 in round two. Wofford (+21) is in third, followed by USC Aiken (+22). Harvard (+29) enters the final round in fifth-place, followed by Furman (+35) and USC Upstate (+35), who are tied for sixth.
The 54-hole tournament will conclude on Saturday, with the Paladins teeing off of No. 1 beginning at 8:00 a.m. Furman will be paired in a group with Charleston Southern and Francis Marion.
