Final Round Of Bank Of Tennessee Intercollegiate Cancelled Due To Inclement Weather

JONESBOROUGH, TENN.. -- The final round of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at the par 72, 7,147 yard Blackthorn Club in Jonesborough, Tenn., was cancelled Sunday due to persistent rain showers in the area.   Round two was halted at dark on Saturday, so the final teams concluded round two on Sunday morning prior to the rain.  

The Paladins (+3) finished ninth in the team standings.  No. 12 Wake Forest (-18) won the tournament, five strokes ahead of 31st-ranked East Tennessee State (-13), and 11 strokes ahead of third-place Penn State (-7).  Memphis (-3) and Virginia Tech (-2) rounded out the top five. 

Paladin junior Wehman Hopke (E) moved into a tie for 24th place at the conclusion of round two, while freshman Hunter Nichols (+2) and sophomore Bryce Howell (+2) tied for 35th place.  Junior Preston Cole (+3) finished in a tie for 40th, while junior Preston Heyward (+4) moved into a tie for 48th place.

The Paladins will conclude the 2014 fall season Oct. 18-19 at the Palmetto Collegiate Championship in Camden, S.C.
