Davidson, N.C. – Davidson limited Furman to its lowest points total in almost 50 years and recorded its 18th consecutive home win over the Paladins, 73-36, in Southern Conference men's basketball action on Wednesday night at Belk Arena.

The Wildcats, who claimed their 11th straight victory to improve to 20-7 overall and 15-1 in league play, held Furman to 25% shooting from the floor for the game and just 12 first half points as the Paladins posted their fewest points in a contest since a 45-32 loss at South Carolina on December 10, 1963.

Davidson opened the game on a 10-0 run and led 14-9 when its defense took over the game, holding Furman without a field goal over the final 12 minutes of the period as the Wildcats used a 25-3 run to lead 39-12 at intermission.  The Wildcats shot 50% from the floor in the second half to increase their margin to 40 points at 71-31 before cruising to the 73-36 triumph.

Two Davidson players posted double-doubles to lead the Wildcat offense as De'Mon Brooks totaled 15 points and 10 rebounds and Jake Cohen added 12 points and a game-high 11 boards.  The Wildcats shot 44.3% from the field and converted on 11-of-13 trips to the foul line while committing just six turnovers on the night.  Davidson outscored Furman 32-12 in the paint and 17-4 on second chance opportunities.

Furman, who suffered its seventh straight loss to fall to 6-20 overall and 3-12 in the SoCon, made just 11-of-44 field goal attempts and only 3-of-9 shots behind the three-point arc.  Freshman Larry Wideman match his career-high by tallying 18 points to pace the Paladins.

The loss marked Furman's 31st defeat in its last 33 meetings against Davidson.

The Paladins return to action on Saturday when they visit Statesboro, Ga., to battle the Georgia Southern Eagles.  Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
