Furman: Appears poised to see substantially more action this spring, most likely as either a designated hitter or at first base...could also see spot duty in the outfield and in a pinch-hitting role...boasts solid bat control...hits well to all fields...sports the team's best speed on the base paths. 2009 -- Saw action in 38 games and earned 20 starts, all in the outfield...worked in both right and left field...hit .279 with 14 RBI...delivered a pinch-hit, game winning RBI single in the 11th inning against UNC Greensboro (3-2 win) to clinch Furman's eighth place SoCon regular season finish and berth into the league tournament...went 3-for-3 and drove in a couple of runs against Ball State (14-4 loss)...came back with another 3-for-3 performance that included a double and an RBI versus UNC Asheville (5-3 win)...doubled and scored two runs as part of a 3-for-4 outing against Samford (11-2 win)...fashioned an impressive summer ball experience with the Stark County Terriers of the Great Lakes League, hitting a team leading .364 (36x99), good for sixth best in the league...named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll. 2008 -- Saw action in 22 games, almost exclusively as a pinch-hitter...hit .375 (9x24) with eight RBI and seven runs scored...four of his nine hits were doubles...went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored versus Elon (15-12 loss)...doubled twice in two at bats against Clemson (14-2 loss)...named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll.
