AUSTIN, Texas -- Furman junior Gabbi Jennings finished ninth in the 3,000m Steeplechase to earn second team All-American accolades Saturday in the final day of the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Austin, Texas.

Jennings, a native of Slidell, La., posted a time of 9:58.83 in the event finals.  Earlier this week, she set a program record with a time of 9:47.84 to take second place in Thursday's semifinals, shattering the Paladin record of 9:52.71, which sophomore Krissy Gear set at last year's preliminaries.  A two time All-American in the event, Jennings won her heat and placed third overall at the NCAA East Preliminaries to reach the semifinals.

In Wednesday's opening day, junior Ryan Adams earned second team All-American honors in the 1,500m to pace the Paladins.  He finished seventh in his heat and 16th overall with a time of 3:47.21.  Seniors Frank Lara and Templeton garnered honorable mention All-American citations in the 10,000m.  A three-time All-American in the event, Lara ran among the leaders during the race and finished 17th with a time of 30:09.94, while senior Aaron Templeton posted a time of 31:00.58 for 22nd place.

In Thursday's 3000m Steeplechase semifinal, Gear placed 15th with a time of 10:15.07 in the event, earning second team All-American honors.  On Friday, Templeton earned honorable mention All-American honors in the 5,000m after finishing 17th with a time of 14:24.41.

The top eight finishers in each event at the meet are deemed first team All-Americans, with finishers nine through 16 earning second team All-American accolades.  Honorable mention All-American citations are bestowed on athletes who finish in 17th through 24th place.
