Krista Beechy is now in her second year as an assistant coach on the Furman staff, having joined the Paladin program in May of 2016.

"I am thrilled to have Krista Beechy as an assistant coach on our staff," said head coach Jackie Carson upon Beechy's hiring.  "She paid her dues as a member of great staffs at both Winthrop and at Kent State and had always remained on my short list of outstanding assistant coaching candidates. She sports a vast basketball knowledge and is a relentless worker who will provide great energy to our program."

Beechy arrived in Greenville following two years at Kent State, where she served as director of basketball operations while also coordinating community outreach intiatives, basketball camps, and team video duties for the Golden Flashes.

Prior to going to Kent State she worked as a graduate coach for two seasons at Winthrop University while pursing a master's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance.

The Winesburg, Ohio, native served as a staff member for the Ohio Girls Basketball Report and as head junior varsity and assistant varsity girls basketball coach at Hiland (Ohio) High School, her alma mater, from 2010-2012.  She also boasts coaching experience with the Georgia Metros, NEO Swish Basketball Club, and Jim Clayton's Sports City U Basketball Academy.  

A member of two state championship high school teams, she earned her bachelor's degree in business management from Grove City (Pa.) College, where she was a two-year captain and four-year letter winner on the basketball team.
