GREENVILLE, S.C. – Furman placed 26 athletes on the Southern Conference Fall Academic All-Conference Team, as announced today by the league office.
A total of 355 student-athletes, a record for the fall, were named to the team, comprised of representatives from men's and women's cross country, football, men's and women's soccer, and volleyball.
To be eligible, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.3 cumulative grade point average at the conclusion of the fall semester and were required to compete in at least one-half of their team's competitions during the recently concluded campaign. In addition, the student-athletes must have successfully completed at least three semesters at their institutions, making true freshmen and first-year transfers ineligible for inclusion.
With six honorees, Furman's football team and women's soccer team topped the Paladin contingent followed by five selections each from the women's cross country squad. Furman's men's cross country team, along with men's soccer, and volleyball, each placed three representatives on the team.
