Paladin Stadium, Timmons Arena, Furman Athletics Policies and Guidelines

Appropriate Behavior:

We encourage our fans to be ambassadors of Furman University and represent the Paladins with the highest level of class and dignity.  Inappropriate behavior will result in removal from the stadium and may end with legal action and loss of ticket privileges. 


Southern Conference Code of Spectator Conduct

SOUTHERN CONFERENCE TEAMS SHALL BE SUPPORTED WITH ENTHUSIASM AND DEDICATION, FOR STRONG SPECTATOR SUPPORT IS A VITAL PART OF THE EXPERIENCE OF COLLEGE COMPETITION. WE EXPECT GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP FROM PLAYERS AND COACHES AND THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO EXPECT THE SAME FROM SPECTATORS. THEREFORE, WE URGE SOUTHERN CONFERENCE STUDENTS, ALUMNI AND FRIENDS TO CHEER THEIR TEAMS TO VICTORY WHILE UPHOLDING THOSE IDEALS OUR COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES HAVE NURTURED DURING THE LONG HISTORY OF THE SOUTHERN CONFERENCE. OUR SPECTATORS SHOULD BE COURTEOUS AND JUDICIOUS IN CHOICE OF EXPRESSION AND SHOULD EXPRESS GOOD MANNERS AND KINDNESS TO ALL OTHERS. THE SCOREBOARD WILL REFLECT THE QUALITY OF THE TEAMS IN COMPETITION; THE KIND OF SUPPORT GIVEN BY THE SPECTATORS WILL REVEAL THE CHARACTER OF SOUTHERN CONFERENCE FANS.

Alcohol Policy And Tailgating At Major Athletic Events:

Furman University provides the opportunity for tailgating at approved venues on the Furman campus for football and other major athletic events.  The requirements established for tailgating are intended to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for students, alumni, and guests. 

Open alcohol containers are only permitted for Non-Student Tailgaters who are 21 and older in the area adjacent to an individual’s parking space as set out above.  Students may only consume alcohol in the designated location for student tailgating and must be 21 and older. Non-Student tailgating is strictly a “BYOB” event in which individuals who choose to bring their own alcoholic beverages, limited only to beer and wine products, are solely responsible for their disposition and individually assume all liability associated with their choices. The use of common containers, such as kegs, party balls, large containers of drinks, beer tubs, and trash cans of beer is strictly prohibited.
No glass of any kind will be permitted in the tailgating area and will be confiscated.

Artificial Noisemakers:
Unapproved and unsanctioned artificial noisemakers (air horns, cowbells, etc.) are not permitted in Paladin Stadium as per Southern Conference rules. However, in accordance with SoCon regulations, sanctioned noisemakers such as "Thunder Sticks" or "Bam-Bams" as a part of a gate giveaway are permissible. Fans are asked to be considerate and allow your neighbor to enjoy the game.

Chairs:

Fans visiting Paladin Stadium will be allowed to bring in their own stadium seat cushions or camping type chairs if they so choose. However, chairs are NOT allowed on any concrete areas and only permitted on the grass areas of Paladin Stadium.

Child Supervision/Child Tickets:

Children are required to have an adult with them at all times while in the athletic facility. The ticket holder assumes all risk for themselves and their children upon entering the facility.  All children taller than 38 inches in height are required to have a ticket. Purchase Tickets

Concession Stands:
Concession stands are located on the main concourse on both the East and West sides of the stadium serving Pepsi products, hot dogs, sausage dogs and many other items.

Directions to Paladin Stadium:

Paladin Stadium is located on the campus of Furman University 3300 Poinsett Highway Greenville, South Carolina 29613. If you are using a GPS device please type "Furman University" in the search bar.

Dogs:

Dogs or pets of any kind are NOT allowed in Paladin Stadium with the exception of assistance animals.


Emergency Procedures:

In the event of an emergency, find the nearest usher or public safety officer. In the event of severe weather or lightning, instructions will be given over the PA system. Furman University Public Safety can be reached at 294-2111.

Faculty/Staff Tickets:

Faculty/Staff Tickets may be picked up at the Will Call tent located to the left of the base of the Pierce-Horton Football Facility. Faculty/Staff Tickets may be picked up beginning 2 hours prior to kickoff.

Game Times:
All up to date game times are published on furmanpaladins.com are subject to change. Furman Athletics will publicize any game time changes. Ticket refunds will NOT be made available because of a change in kickoff times.

Gates:
Gates open 90 minutes prior to game time.  All parcels, bags and alike are subject to inspection upon entry into Paladin Stadium.

Handicapped Parking and Transport

Lost and Found:
If you find an item, please return it to the nearest usher. The official lost & found for the university is located at the FU Public Safety office. 864-294-2111.

Merchandise:
Paladin apparel and game day merchandise can be found on the West Side of Paladin Stadium. Merchandise is also available anytime at furmanpaladins.com, or also at the Furman University Book Store in the Trone Student Center. Furman University Bookstore

Press Box:
No one is allowed in the press box without proper credentials.

Prohibited Items:

Only those items needed for medical/family needs will be permitted. All carried items are subject to search.  Prohibited items include:

  • Umbrellas
  • Alcoholic Beverages
  • Outside food or Drink
  • Containers or coolers
  • Large bags & backpacks
  • Flags or poles
  • Firearms, weapons, or explosives (including fireworks)
  • Laser Pointers
  • Clothing containing vulgar language
  • Inappropriate, abusive or oversized signage
  • Any item deemed by management to be dangerous or inappropriate

Requests for Assistance:
Requests for assistance should be directed to stadium ushers or public safety officers located throughout the stadium.

Smoking:

All forms of smoking are prohibited at Paladin Stadium.  Smoking areas are available in designated areas outside the main gates.

Ticket Sales:

The main ticket office is located under the East Stands (Visitor Side) of Paladin Stadium and opens 2 hours prior to Game time. Credit cards & cash are accepted, personal checks are NOT. The Timmons Arena Box Office will serve as the West Stands (Home Side) box office for football game day purchases and will open two hours before kickoff. Purchase Tickets Online

 

Will Call (Football) is located to the left of the base of the Pierce-Horton Football Facility and opens 2 hours prior to kickoff. Photo identification is required to pick up tickets left at Will Call and only the ticket holder may pick up the tickets. 
(Basketball) Will Call is located in the lobby of Timmons Arena. 

 

Tickets Refunds/Resale:
Tickets cannot be resold at the stadium site. Lost or stolen tickets are not the responsibility of management and additional tickets can be purchased through the ticket office. There is a "no refund" policy in effect on all tickets. All ticket sales are final. Management reserves the right to refuse admission.


Visiting Team Guest:
