GREENVILLE, S.C. -
Furman's Nicole Palazzo has been named the Southern Conference Volleyball Player of the Month for the month of November, the league announced today.
Palazzo helped lead Furman (21-13, 11-7) to its first Southern Conference championship since 1990 and its first ever NCAA Tournament appearance. She was named to the all-tournament team.
The middle blocker from Grayson, Ga. led the Paladins to an 8-2 record during the month. She recorded 117 kills, a .351 hitting percentage, and a 0.82 blocking average.
Palazzo will look to extend the Paladins' six-match winning streak as Furman faces 12th-seeded Utah in the first round of the NCAA tournament. The match will be played in Jervey Gymnasium on the campus of Clemson University on Friday, December 5 at 7:00 p.m.
