Palazzo Named Volleyball Player of the Month for September

Greenville, S.C. - Furman volleyball player Nicole Palazzo was named the Southern Conference Volleyball Player of the Month for September it was announced today by the league office.
A middle blocker, Palazzo helped lead Furman to a 4-1 conference record in September. The sophomore tallied 126 kills and averaged 2.57 per game as well as recording 74 blocks, including 17 solo for the Lady Paladins.
For the month Palazzo reached double figures in kills in seven of 13 matches and recorded four or more total blocks in 12 of 13 matches, with a season-high nine against College of Charleston on Sept. 30. She leads the conference in hitting percentage with a .377 clip and ranks second on the list in blocks per game with 1.31. Palazzo was named the Molten Volleyball Player of the Week for October 2.
Furman returns to action on Friday night as the Paladins travel to face Georgia Southern at 7 p.m. at Hanner Fieldhouse.
