Furman Volleyball to Face UNC Greensboro on Friday

Greenville, S.C. - The Furman volleyball team will play host to UNC Greensboro on Friday at Alley Gymnasium at 7 p.m. The game marks the Paladins home and conference openers this season.

Furman (4-5) is led by Chibuzo Aguocha, who was named Southern Conference Player of the Week on August 28. The junior, a preseason all-conference selection, leads the conference with a 5.09 kills per game average. Aguocha has reached double figures in all nine matches this season, and has topped 20 kills in three matches.

Nicole Palazzo currently leads the SoCon with a .362 hitting percentage (67-13-149). Preseason all-conference selection Courtney Stewardson ranks second in the conference with 11.94 assists per game.

UNCG (9-4 overall, 0-1 SoCon) is coming off a 3-2 loss to Elon on Tuesday. The Spartans are led by Theresa Hart with 4.07 kills per game. Setter Lisa Fawell leads UNCG with 11.88 assists per game, and Kaitlyn Nortz leads the team with 1.16 blocks per game.

Furman will continue play with weekend on Saturday with a 2 p.m. match at Clemson.
