Lady Paladins Lose On the Road at College of Charleston

CHARLESTON, South Carolina - The league-leading Cougars of College of Charleston moved to 20-1 on the season and 11-0 in the Southern Conference with a 3-0 victory over the Furman volleyball team Friday night in John Kresse Arena.
College of Charleston downed Furman 30-23, 30-12, 30-24 in the second meeting of the year between these two programs. C of C won the first match 3-1 to spoil the Lady Paladin move into the newly renovated Alley Gym.
Friday night Chibuzo Aguocha paced Furman with eight kills but hit -.026, while Whitney Purser added seven and a .087 attack percentage. Kerry Wooten led the Furman net defense with six block assists while setter Courtney Stewardson contributed a team-high 10 digs and 29 assists.
With the loss the Lady Paladins fall to 8-13 overall and 4-7 on the year. Furman will face The Citadel Saturday at 2 p.m. in McAlister Fieldhouse.
