Furman Volleyball Blanks Wofford 3-0

Spartanburg, S.C. - Kerry Wooten recorded 11 kills, and Furman hit .311 as a team as the Paladins defeated Wofford 3-0 (30-20, 30-24, 30-24) at Benjamin Johnson Arena on Tuesday night.
Wooten reached double-figures in kills for the sixth time this season and added four total blocks for the Paladins. Whitney Purser tallied 10 kills against only one hitting error for a .450 hitting percentage.
Alison West lead the Furman hitting attack with a .714 (6-1-7) mark. Nicole Palazzo also contributed to the hitting performance with nine kills and a .375 hitting percentage.
Sarah Twitty led the Terriers with a game-high 14 kills. Carolyn Rivers also recorded a game-high 11 digs.
With the win, Furman improves to 7-7 on the season, and a perfect 3-0 in the Southern Conference. Wofford falls to 4-8 overall, 0-4 in conference play. Furman returns to action this weekend with conference road games at The Citadel on Friday and College of Charleston on Saturday.
