Greenville, S.C. – Furman volleyball returns to Alley Gym on Wednesday night, as the Paladins open the home-portion of the 2017 schedule with a 7:00 p.m. matchup with Gardner-Webb.

The Paladins (4-5) are coming off of three-straight weekends of early-season non-conference tournaments, matching up against two SEC, two Big Ten, and an ACC school already this season. Jamila Johnson has been named to all three All-Tournament teams and leads the Paladins offensively with 143 kills on the year. Meg DeMaar was named the SoCon Defensive Player of the Week earlier this week, finishing the Hampton Inn Bama Bash with 67 digs and 12 assists in 12 sets, recording 5.58 digs per set and 20-plus digs in all three matches of the tournament. The Glen Ellyn, Ill., native ranks second in the conference with 5.30 digs per set (159 total).

Gardner-Webb (6-5) comes to Furman after a 3-0 weekend at the ECU Classic and a 3-1 win at North Carolina Central on Tuesday. Redshirt-junior Keira Moore earned Big South Conference Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week honors after recording 24 blocks in four matches, averaging 1.60 blocks per set to help lead Gardner-Webb to a 3-1 record for the week.
