In set one, the teams traded points from the beginning, until TCU took a 15-9 lead on a kill by Blaire Pickens. The Paladins were then able to pull within two on kils by Gregory, Amelia Bohlander and Dorismond before the Horned Frogs went on a 7-3 run to force a Furman timeout. Wilks again went to Gregory for the offense, but the Paladins were not able to close the gap, falling 25-21.
