WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sophomore Natalie Braun hit .412 with ten kills and ten digs to lead the Furman volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-20, 25-10, 25-18) win over East Carolina Friday night in the Paladins' opening match of the Georgetown Classic in Washington, D.C.
Despite a close first set, Furman took the lead at the beginning of the match and never let the Pirates gain an advantage. The Paladins hit .314 for the match, with a .417 attack percentage off 20 kills and only five errors in the third set. Furman held East Carolina to a .133 hitting percentage for the evening.
Furman (4-6) will play Binghamton Saturday morning at 11 a.m. followed by a match against host Georgetown at 7 p.m.
