GREENVILLE, S.C. - Junior women's tennis player Laura Gioia has earned a regional ranking of 11, the ITA announced last week.

Gioia was ranked 82nd overall in the ITA preseason national rankings. Her fall season included wins over ranked opponents from Kentucky, Indiana State, TCU, and Princeton.

Gioia also earned a regional ranking for her doubles play with partner Natasa Manojlovic. The two are ranked no. 15 in the Southeast region. Gioia/Manojlovic defeated a ranked team from Miami, as well as pairs from North Carolina and Wisconsin during the fall.

The women's tennis team begins play in 2008 with a match against Georgia State on January 25.
