Consolation play continues tomorrow

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Furman tennis player Laura Gioia was defeated today in the first round of the main draw of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Cali.

Junior Gioia had a great run in the qualifying round of the Championships, defeating three ranked opponents to qualify for the main draw.

Today, Gioia fell 6-4, 6-3 to Diana Srebrovic of Florida, who holds an ITA preseason ranking of 12th. Gioia will continue play in the consolation bracket of the main draw tomorrow.
