UNC Captures Three Singles Titles, Clemson Two

GREENVILLE, SC - The 16th ranked Tar Heels of North Carolina captured three singles titles on Sunday at the Furman Fall Classic, with 5th ranked Clemson right behind claiming two titles. In flight two Tar Heel Kendall Kline downed Vanderbilt's Amanda Fish 7-6(5), 7-6(2) and in flight five Jenna Long defeated Furman's Bonnie Baird 6-1, 6-3. The final UNC victory came in flight six when Charlotte Tansill ousted Julie Martin 6-4, 4-6, 6-1. Clemson's Julie Coin came away with the flight one title, downing Aniela Mojzis of North Carolina 7-6(6), 6-1 and Romy Farah was victorious over Tar Heel Caitlin Collins 6-3, 7-6(3) in flight four. Vanderbilt took the flight three championship with Taka Bertrand downing North Carolina's Sara Anundsen 5-7, 6-3, 6-1.
The host Lady Paladins came away with two singles victories on the day. Marti Morris defeated Wisconsin's Chelsea Nusslock 6-7(6), 6-4, 6-1 in flight four and in flight three Caroline Bentley downed Wisconsin's Lindsay Martin 6-4, 6-1.
