Lady Paladins Set For NCAA First Round Matchup Against 12th Seed Clemson

Indianapolis, IN - The Clemson Tigers will play host to the Furman Lady Paladins in the first round of the NCAA tournament on May 13th. Furman (22-3) and Clemson (18-8) both received an automatic bid to the tournament after capturing the Southern Conference and Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament Championships. The match up marks the thirtieth meeting between the two schools with Clemson holding a 27-2 advantage. Furman last defeated the Tigers during the 2001-02 season.
The NCAA tournament bid marks the second straight year the Lady Paladins have made the tournament, and sixth time in the last seven years. Last season Furman dropped their first round match to Duke 4-0. The Lady Paladins won their only first round NCAA Tournament match during the 2001-02 season, with a 4-1 victory over Louisiana State.
