Lady Paladin Tennis Opener Postponed Due to Weather

GREENVILLE, South Carolina - The opening match of the 2005 Furman women's tennis season, slated for Saturday, Jan. 29, has been postponed due to inclement weather.

Instead of squaring off on Saturday, as originally planned, the Lady Paladins will host the Winthrop Eagles on March 11 at 3 p.m. Furman will be seeking a victory over Winthrop after losing 4-3 to the Eagles for the first time in the 2004 season.

With the postponement of the scheduled season opener, the Lady Paladins will open the 2005 campaign on Tuesday, Feb. 1, when they host the Gamecocks of South Carolina in a 5 p.m. matchup at the Minor Mickel Tennis Center.
