Three Lady Paladin tennis players are undefeated heading into day two of the Kitty Harrison Invitation hosted by UNC Chapel Hill.
In doubles action on Friday morning, the team of Arguello/Osbourne defeated Hushke/Mckever (Maryland) 8-6, while the team of Betts/Preeg topped Kratiyenka/Miller (Maryland) by the same score. Gioia/Manojlovic fell in a tight match to Amir/Lundmark (Maryland) by a score of 9-8 (6).
In singles action on Friday, the Lady Paladins went 4-2. Junior Laura Gioia defeated Amanda Rales (UVA) 6-4, 6-1, while Maggie Yahner of UVA topped Lauren Osbourne 6-2, 6-4.
Sophomore Jessica Preeg beat Anna Lee Evas (Coll. of Charleston) 6-3, 6-1, and freshman Monica Arguello topped another Cougar player, Chelsea Albertz, 7-5, 4-6, 10-5.
To round out the morning's play, Lara Alexander (UVA) downed Natasa Manojlovic, while freshman Jennifer Betts defeated Lauren Downing (UNA) 6-3, 6-0.
The Lady Paladins return to action tomorrow at the Kitty Harrison Invitational.
