Furman Women's Tennis Downs Chattanooga 5-2

Chattanooga, TN - The Furman women's tennis team recorded a 5-2 victory over UT-Chattanooga Saturday afternoon at the UTC Tennis Center. The Lady Paladins, who improved to 11-6, 5-0 in conference, won the doubles point and four of the six singles matches to defeat Chattanooga, who fell to 8-11, 1-6 in conference.

In doubles Furman's Jacqueline Eckert teamed with Lauren Osborne for an 8-4 victory over Talita Bragato and Beata Knizat at No.2 and the Lady Paladin tandem of Lisa Bornt-Davis and Shannon Moore downed Bonnie Adams and Maureen Paris 8-4 at No.3. Chattanooga won the No.1 doubles match with Lindsey Ballard and Anastasia Zhukova downing Laura Gioia and Marti Morris 8-4.

In singles Furman quickly won four matches in flights three through six all by a score of 6-0, 6-1 to secure the victory on the day.

Furman returns to action on Sunday when they travel to Atlanta, GA for a 10:00 AM match against Georgia State.
