Jason Garriotte is in his first season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Furman women's tennis team. He has served as the team's assistant coach for the last three seasons, then stepped down in July to pursue an opportunity with his family's business.
Garriotte graduated from Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne with a bachelor of science degree in business in 2000. He played number one singles for the Mastodons during his four-year career, earning all-conference honors all four years of his collegiate career, and a national ranking as high as 65 in 1996.
A native of Plymouth, Ind., Garriotte spent time working in the professional business environment before becoming a certified USPTA tennis professional in 2003. He taught in Ohio and Georgia before coming to Furman.
Garriotte will help coach at home matches as his schedule permits and hit twice a week with the team.
