While injury forced Eckert out of the singles lineup last year, she made the most of her playing time with a 20-5 mark in doubles action. Eckert is a leader on the court with a big serve and a strong forehand. When healthy, she is one of Furman's top singles and doubles players.
Eckert paired with Lauren Osborne at No. 2 doubles last year, earning second-team all-conference honors with a 9-0 league mark. The duo also played together this fall and made the finals at the Virginia Tech Invitational. In 2005, Eckert played No. 4 singles and earned big victories over Auburn and San Diego. As a rookie, Eckert's 8-2 SoCon record at No. 3 helped earn her SoCon Freshman of the Year honors. She and partner Caroline Bentley were also named first-team all-league with a 9-0 SoCon doubles mark.
Prep/Personal: The team MVP as a sophomore, Eckert helped lead Westminster to two state championships. She was a state doubles champion in 2002 and was honored with the UTA Sportsmanship Award in 2003. Eckert was also a National Open 16s Finalist in 2001. Jacqueline was born on September 30, 1984 and is the daughter of Joe and Lee Eckert. She is majoring in health and exercise science.
