GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman women's tennis team will hold a silent auction and open house on Saturday, January 19, at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C.
Fans are invited to watch the team practice from 2- 4 p.m. then meet and greet the players from 4-5:30 p.m. Fans can bid on silent auction items, enjoy appetizers, meet players and coaches, and hear about the upcoming season. Each item in the auction has been donated, so all money raised will go directly to the Paladin team and will help fund the team's spring break trip to Florida in March. "We are excited for our third annual silent auction and open house," said Paladin head coach Adam Herendeen, who is in his fourth year at the helm of the Furman program. "I could not think of a better way to start our season than with this event and two really tough home matches! We have had so many people from our community give generously towards the silent auction, and we have a lot of great items for everyone to bid on."
Furman, the reigning Southern Conference Champion, will open the 2019 season on January 20. The Paladins will take on Elon at noon at the Mickel Tennis Center. The following day, Furman will entertain Georgia State at 4 p.m.
