The opening day of the Southern Conference Softball Championship, including Furman's scheduled 5 p.m. contest with Georgia Southern on Wednesday, has been rained out it was announced this morning. The fifth-seeded Paladins will now face the Eagles at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the alternate field at Warner Park in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The winner of Thursday's game will battle the winner between top-seed Chattanooga and the play-in game winner at 7 p.m. at Frost Stadium while the loser will play at 5 p.m. against the loser of the same game.
