Greenville, S.C. -- Furman left-hander Lindsey Bert has been named Southern Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time this season and record 11th time in her career, it was announced on Monday by the league office.

Bert, a senior from Tallahassee, Fla., hurled two shutouts this past weekend to lead the Paladins to a series victory over Samford. She tossed a one-hitter and fanned 13 batters in Saturday's 7-0 win before striking out eight batters and allowing just two hits in a 12-0, five-inning victory over the Bulldogs on Sunday in the rubber game of the series.

For the week, Bert went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA and surrendered just three hits over 12 innings of work while striking out 21 batters. She also went 4-for-9 at the plate with a double and drove in a run in each of Furman's three games versus Samford.

Entering the final week of the regular season, Bert boasts a 23-8 record in the circle with a 1.59 ERA and nation-leading 295 strikeouts. She also ranks among the national leaders with 12 shutouts and leads the SoCon with 15 doubles at the plate.

The Paladins, who finished the 2018 home schedule with a 27-3 record at Pepsi Stadium, are 36-12 overall and 8-5 in SoCon play. Furman concludes the regular season next weekend with a three-game series at Mercer before taking part in the SoCon Softball Championship in Greensboro, N.C., the following week.
