Greenville, S.C. -- Furman will conclude its 2018 home softball schedule this weekend when it hosts Southern Conference foe Samford for a three-game series at Pepsi Stadium, beginning with a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday and ending with a single game at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Prior to the first pitch of Saturday's doubleheader, the Paladins will honor their seven seniors, who are slated to graduate early next month. The senior class of Lindsey Bert, AnnaRose Borrelli, Caroline Cash, Brittany Houston, Candace Johnson, Emma Ogburn and Hannah Reynolds have helped Furman to four consecutive winning seasons, four straight 30-win campaigns and a share of the 2017 SoCon regular season title. Their 129 wins over the past four seasons are the most for a Paladin senior class since the 1995 seniors claimed 137 victories.

Furman enters the weekend at 34-11 overall and 6-4 in league play after an 8-0, 8-0, 7-0 series sweep of Western Carolina last weekend at Pepsi Stadium. The dominating performance improved the Paladins to 25-2 at home this year and ran their home winning streak at Pepsi Stadium to 14 games.

The offense came to life against the Catamounts, forcing a pair of mercy rule victories. Freshman Marissa Guimbarda went 4-for-6 with a double, homer and four RBI for the weekend. Borrelli who leads the team batting .306 with 11 homers and 39 RBI, went 4-for-8 with a double, homer and five runs batted in.

Bert picked up her record 10th SoCon Pitcher of the Week citation after hurling a pair of shutouts against Western Carolina that included a one-hitter on Saturday afternoon and a two-hitter with 14 strikeouts in the series finale on Sunday. She currently sports a 21-8 record in the circle with a 1.68 ERA and leads the nation with 10 shutouts and 272 strikeouts on the season.

Samford comes to Greenville with a 16-32 overall record and 5-5 SoCon mark. The Bulldogs, led by senior outfielder Shelby Maze, split a pair of games against Mercer this past weekend in a rain-shortened SoCon series.

All three games this weekend will be streamed live on the SoCon Digital Network with live statistics available through StatBroadcast. Links for both can be found at FurmanPaladins.com.

Admission is free to all games at Pepsi Stadium.
