Charleston, S.C. -- Furman forward Martha Hall was named Southern Conference Women’s Soccer Freshman-of-the-Year and four Paladins garnered All-SoCon honors, it was announced on Thursday evening at the league’s annual soccer awards banquet in Charleston, S.C.

Seniors Rachel Fry and Kate Myatt each were named All-SoCon first team selections while Hall and sophomore defender Ashley Creavalle earned second team all-league honors.

Hall, a native of Knoxville, Tenn., led the Paladins and ranked among the league’s leaders with 10 goals and 25 points in her inaugural collegiate season. The former IMG Academy standout, who added five assists, tallied five match-winning goals while also earning SoCon All-Freshman Team honors.

Fry, a midfielder, registered six goals and a team-leading nine assists while starting all 21 matches this season. The Gambrills, Md., product has netted four match-winning goals this season to tie her for second on Furman’s career charts with 14 match-winners. A two-time first team All-SoCon selection and 2007 SoCon Tournament MVP, Fry also ranks in Furman’s career top 10 lists for goals, assists and total points.

Myatt and Creavalle, both second team All-SoCon choices in 2007, have anchored a Paladin defense that has notched nine shutouts and surrendered just 23 goals in 21 matches during the 2008 campaign.

Furman, 13-7-1 on the season and the No. 5 seed the SoCon Tournament, faces top-seed UNC Greensboro in the first SoCon semifinals match on Friday at 4:30 p.m. at Patriots Point.
