Morrison, Hinshaw Garner CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

Greenville, S.C. - Furman's Andre'a Morrison and Andie Hinshaw have been named to the 2005 Academic All-District III Third Team, it was announced this week by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America.
Morrison has tallied a team-high 15 goals and added four assists on her way to earning First Team All-Southern Conference honors this season. The Kernersville, N.C., native has notched four game-winning goals while earning the league's player-of-the-week, player-of-the-month and student-athlete of the week awards along the way in 2005. A senior forward, Morrison sports a 3.50 grade point average in health and exercise science.
Hinshaw, in Furman's 4-0 Southern Conference Tournament victory over Wofford last night, set a school single season mark with 10 shutouts while extending her SoCon career shutouts record to 35. The senior goalkeeper sports a 0.91 goals against average in 20 matches this season and also was selected First Team All-Southern Conference. Earlier this season, Hinshaw established a new school standard by registering four consecutive shutouts. The Raleigh, N.C, native is double majoring in Spanish and political science and maintains a 3.79 GPA.
Both players are now eligible to appear on the ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors.
Furman, 13-5-2, advanced to the semifinals of the SoCon Women's Soccer Championship where they will take to the pitch at 7:30 p.m. tonight against thid-seeded UNC Greensboro at Stone Stadium.
