Greenville, S.C. - Furman goalkeeper Andie Hinshaw has been named the TIAA-CREF Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for the week for October 26, the league office announced today.

A senior from Raleigh, NC, Hinshaw posted shutouts last week against Georgia Southern (5-0) and Wofford. The two clean sheets extended her school-record consecutive shutout streak to four games and 421 minutes.

In Furman's 0-0 tie with Wofford last Sunday, Hinshaw notched her ninth shutout of the 2005 campaign to tie her own Furman single-season record, while at the same time extending her league career shutoutsmark to 34 games.

In the classroom, Hinshaw is a double major in political science and spanish, boasting a 3.79 grade point average.

Furman, 11-5-2 overall and 6-1-2 in SoCon play, concludes its regular season Sunday when it hosts UNC Greensboro at 2:00 p.m.
