Greenville, S.C. - The Furman women's soccer team is set to host Western Carolina on Friday at 7 p.m. and Appalachian State on Sunday at 3 p.m. as the Paladins look to make a late push in the Southern Conference standings.

Furman enters Friday night's match at 10-5-0 overall and 4-4-0 in the SoCon with just three regular season matches remaining. The Paladins, currently with 12 points and in sixth place in the league standings, must climb into the top four to earn a spot in the SoCon Tournament which is scheduled for November 6-8, at the home field of the regular season champion.

The Paladins are 10-3-0 in 13 previous meetings with Western Carolina, but dropped a 1-0 decision last season against the defending SoCon Tournament champions. The Catamounts enter the match at 5-6-5 overall and 2-3-3 in league play.

Appalachian State comes in to Sunday's match at 5-8-4 overall and 2-4-3 in the SoCon after a 1-1 draw at Wofford on Thursday. The Paladins have posted a 19-2-1 record in 22 previous meetings with the Mountaineers including a 1-0 triumph in Boone, N.C., last season on a goal by Martha Hall.

Following this weekend's games, Furman will close out the regular season and its three-match homestand hosting Wofford on October 29, at 7 p.m.
