Nicky Darling Named Southern Conference Player-of-the-Week

Greenville, S.C. - Furman's Nicky Darling has been named Southern Conference Women's Soccer Player-of-the-Week after leading Furman to the Select Kickoff Classic title and garnering tournament most valuable player honors this past weekend, the league office announced Tuesday.
The Coralville, Iowa, native netted two goals, including the game-winner, in Furman's 2-1 victory over Gardner-Webb on Friday night before helping the Lady Paladins down Eastern Kentucky 3-1 in Sunday's tournament finale.
A senior midfielder, Darling has notched five goals and two game-winners in the Lady Paladins eight matches this season.
Furman returns to action Wednesday when it travels to Greenville, N.C., to face the East Carolina Pirates in a non-conference matchup. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
