Greenville, S.C. - The Furman women's soccer team opens its season hosting Coastal Carolina and Canisius in the Select Kickoff Classic Friday and Sunday at Eugene Stone Soccer Stadium.

The Paladins entertain the Chanticleers in game two Friday immediately following the tournament's first match between the Canisius Golden Griffins and Wofford Terriers at 5 p.m. On Sunday, Furman hosts Canisius at noon while Wofford takes on Coastal Carolina at 2:30 p.m.

Fourth-year coach Andrew Burr's Paladins return six starters from a 2007 squad that went 16-6-1 and claimed the Southern Conference Tournament title. Furman holds a 3-0-0 record in the all-time series against Coastal Carolina, but the teams have not met since 2002. The Paladins upended Canisius 2-1 in the only meeting between the two schools in 1999.
