Greenville, S.C. -- Furman women's soccer incoming freshman Ellie Perkins will join the England U-18 National Team for July friendlies versus Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland before reporting to preseason training with the Paladins in August.

Perkins, who played her club soccer at Arsenal, was called into training camp with England on June 23-25, at St. George's Park, the training home of England's senior and youth national teams. The defender/forward will rejoin the squad on July 14, in preparation for a Monday, July 16, contest versus Northern Ireland at Queen Ethelburga's Collegiate in York, England. Her team will face the Republic of Ireland on Wednesday, July 18, in York.

Prior to signing with the Paladins this past spring, Perkins helped Arsenal to the 2017-18 Southern League title in the FA Development League. The Dartford, England, native competed with the London Bees in the WSL2 the previous spring.

Furman opens its 2018 schedule with exhibition matches at Elon on August 8, and at Clemson on August 11, before entertaining the Richmond Spiders in the regular season opener on August 17, at Stone Stadium.

A combined men's and women's soccer season ticket is on sale at FurmanPaladins.com for $30 and includes admission to all men's and women's home games and a limited edition Furman Soccer Scarf for the first 100 customers. Single game tickets will go on sale for $5 each later in the summer.
