Greenville, S.C. -- The Furman women's soccer team will welcome eight new faces to the squad for the 2018 season, it was announced by Paladin head coach Andrew Burr.

The class includes forwards Kyndal Anderson (Acworth, Ga.)and Erin Houlihan (Suwanee, Ga.), midfielders Grace Baghdady (Spartanburg, S.C.), MG Farr (Birmingham, Ala.), Isabella Gutierrez (Statesboro, Ga.), and Lauren O'Hearn (Savannah, Ga.), as well as, defenders Faith Hauberg (Vestavia Hills, Ala.) and Ellie Perkins (Dartford, England).

"We are thrilled to welcome this group to campus in August and believe that they can have an immediate impact on our team," said Burr, who garnered Southern Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2017. "Each of them are outstanding student-athletes who will fit well into our program and into the Furman community."

Anderson and Erin Houlihan ranked as the leading scorers for United Futbol Club in the U.S. Development Academy League this spring, while Baghdady and O'Hearn captured state titles with their respective high school teams before teaming to lead Caroline Elite Soccer Academy (CESA) in the Elite Clubs National League.

Farr and Hauberg, teammates with Birmingham United in the ECNL, paced their prep teams to Alabama state titles as Farr led John Carroll Catholic High School to a 6-A state crown, while Hauberg helped Vestavia Hills claim the 7-A title.

Gutierrez garnered Region 2-AAAAA Player of the Year honors en route to helping Statesboro High School to a region title and played her club soccer for the Cherokee Impact in the Region III Premier League and for FC Alliance in the ECNL.

Perkins, who finalized her plans to join the Paladins last month, guided Arsenal to FA Development League Southern titles in 2016 and 2018. An FA Youth Cup winner with Arsenal in 2016, she also was selected to England's national squad training camp in 2015 and 2016.

The 2018 Furman Paladins will return five starters from a 2017 squad that posted a 13-3-2 overall record and claimed a share of the SoCon regular season title with an 8-0-1 league mark. Among the returnees are All-SoCon performers defender Jordan Evens and goalkeeper Kellsey Weaver. The Paladins also return Caitlyn Reilly, who netted seven goals and added six assists to rank seventh in the SoCon in total points.
