Greenville, S.C. -- Furman's Rachel Shah has been tabbed as the Southern Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday morning by the league office.

Shah, a senior from Alpharetta, Ga., totaled a goal and three assists to help Furman to a pair of SoCon victories this past weekend. On Friday night, the midfielder assisted on two of the Paladins' three goals in a 3-0 triumph over VMI in the SoCon opener on Seagraves Field at Stone Soccer Stadium.

Less than 48 hours later, Shah delivered a well-placed corner kick that Treva Aycock headed in to give Furman a 1-0 lead on UNCG less than five minutes into the match. She followed by scoring from the penalty spot in the second half to secure Furman's 2-0 victory.

Shah leads the Paladins and the SoCon with seven assists on the season, while she ranks among the top 10 players in the league with nine total points (1g, 7a).

Furman, 6-2-1 overall and 2-0-0 in the SoCon, returns to action this weekend when it visits Mercer on Friday at 7 p.m. and The Citadel on Sunday at 2 p.m.. Coach Andrew Burr's squad returns to Stone Stadium to host Wofford on , Friday, October 6, at 6 p.m.
