Greenville, S.C. -- Rachel Green scored just 1:13 into the second overtime period to lift UAB to a 3-2 victory over Furman in non-conference women's soccer action Friday night on Seagraves Field at Stone Stadium.

The loss dropped Furman to 2-2-1, while the Blazers moved to 4-1-0 with their second straight double overtime triumph.

Jamiera Lunsford played a centering pass towards the top of the six-yard box at the 101:13 mark and an unmarked Green lined a shot past Furman's Allie Cutler for the deciding goal. The tally was the third of the season for Green.

Furman took a 1-0 lead at 58:12 when Caitlyn Reilly headed in a Sanon Williams cross to open the scoring. UAB answered just 38 seconds later as Megan Hudgens collected the ball outside the top of the box and hammered her shot past Furman goalkeeper Kellsey Weaver from 20 yards.

The Blazers took the lead at 72:43 on Betsy Ornelas' fourth goal of the season. A cross was played from the left side of the box and Weaver looked to have control of the ball before spilling the loose ball into the path of Ornelas, who tapped in the go-ahead score. Furman forced overtime with a goal in the 84th minute. A bending cross into the box was headed out front to Jenny Allen and the senior rocketed a low, driving shot through traffic and into the lower left-hand corner for her second goal of the season.

Kelsey Daugherty finished with seven saves to earn the victory in net for UAB. The Blazers were outshot 17-6 overall and 9-3 in shots on target, but scored on each of their shots on goal.

Furman returns to action next Friday when it entertains North Florida at Stone Stadium at 7 p.m.
