Greenville, S.C. -- Furman kicks off its home schedule on Saturday at 11 a.m. when the Paladin women's soccer team plays host to the Air Force Falcons in an exhibition match on Seagraves Field at Stone Soccer Stadium.

The Paladins, picked to finish second in the Southern Conference in preseason polling of the league's 10 head coaches, return nine of 11 starters from a 2016 squad that went 13-5-1 with a 6-3-0 SoCon record. Senior midfielder Rachel Shah, who garnered first team All-SoCon honors a year ago, led a group of four Paladins who were named to the preseason All-SoCon team on Thursday. She was joined by senior forward Molly Dwyer, sophomore forward Treva Aycock and senior defensive midfielder Sanon Williams.

Furman opened its preseason on Wednesday night with a 3-2 loss at Vanderbilt. Junior Stephanie Arrington and Shah netted goals for the Paladins, while sophomore Kellsey Weaver recorded seven saves in goal.

Following Saturday's exhibition tilt against the Falcons, Furman hosts USC Upstate in the regular season opener on Seagraves Field at Stone Soccer Stadium on August 18, at 7 p.m.

Tickets for every home Furman match are $5 and are available at the Stone Stadium gate beginning an hour prior to kickoff.  Log onto www.FurmanPaladins.com for $20 season tickets (20 game vouchers).
