Ekey Named To NGCA All-Region Team

Greenville, S.C. - Furman's Kathleen Ekey has been named to the National Golf Coaches Association All- Region team after scoring a ninth place finish at the NCAA East Regional earlier this month at the University Club in Baton Rouge, La.
Ekey (67-71-74=212), a sophomore from Wadsworth, Ohio, finished at four-under-par for the tournament and earned a spot in a sudden death playoff with the winner advancing to the NCAA Championships. After a lengthy delay, Ekey's hopes were dashed when the playoff was called due to darkness on the first hole.
Furman finished 11th at the NCAA East Regional. The tournament marked Furman's 15th consecutive trip to an NCAA Regional.
