Lady Paladin Golfers Tied For Fifth at Bryan Park

GREENSBORO, North Carolina - Furman's Lady Paladin golf team fired a first-round five-over 293 on Friday and is tied for fifth with Tulane in the 17-team Bryan National Collegiate, nine-strokes off the lead pace of Georgia and Duke.

Jenny Suh, Theresa Paik and Sarah Sturm each carded a one-over 73 to pace the Furman squad and the trio is tied for 16th, while Connor Atkinson recorded a 74 and is tied for 24th. Furman's non-counter on the day was Monique Gesualdi, who shot 83 and is tied for 75th in the individual standings with two rounds left to play.

Duke's Elizabeth Janangelo recorded a five-under 67 and holds a two-stroke advantage in the individual standings, while Whitney Wade of Georgia is second at 69.

The second round of the Bryan National Collegiate is slated for Saturday at the Byan Park Champions Course.
